Day 1: Antananarivo 

Meet & greet at the airport by the team of Madagascar Tours & Travel and transfer to your hotel.

Day 2: Antananarivo – Périnet / Andasibe (170km + / – 3h)

After breakfast, departure to join the Andasibe National Park. Gradually leaving the mountainous region and plunge into the beautiful landscape of the East. A quick stop at Marovezo to visit Pereiras Reserve: butterfly farm, reptiles and chameleons. After the visit, drives to Andasibe then settle into your hotel. Take lunch and then in the afternoon, visit the private reserve Vakona Forest Lodge, where you’ll find crocodiles, lemurs and some endemic birds…

Day 3: Périnet / Andasibe

After breakfast, visit of Andasibe National Park to discover the largest lemurs on the island which is the Indri and its flora and fauna. After the tour, return to the hotel. Night visit before dinner.

Days 4 – 5 – 6: Andasibe – Mahanoro – Mananjary

After breakfast, departure to join Mahanoro, where you will begin the trip on the Panganales channel. The tour will take 2 nights / 3 days to sail Mananjary. This channel was built at the beginning of colonization (around 1896) by the first French Governor of Madagascar (Marshal GALLIENI) to facilitate navigation. Originally, it was 654km waterway from Fullpointe (North) to Farafangana (South). The landscape is very beautiful, passing through the villages of fishermen. We’ll meet on the canal with their beautiful canoes. Visit plantations producing essential oils.

Day 7: Mananjary – Manakara

After breakfast, we will visit the city of Mananjary before leaving to join Manakara which is the largest city in the South-East coast with its colonial architecture and its old port. Kind of lush vegetation abounds myriad, including wood majestic pink, similar to the tree ferns, bamboos, trees travelers’ bananas. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and free afternoon to visit the city of Manakara formed by twin cities by shoots.

Day 8: Manakara – Fianarantsoa

After your early breakfast, transfer to the train station for your train to Fianarantsoa. CTF is 163 km of road linking the capital and Manakara Betsileo. Built between 1926 and 1936 , it crosses one of the most beautiful landscapes of Madagascar on his wound or his descent from the highlands to the sea Lined with 67 tunnels and 48 bridges and one railway steepest the world ( such as Ecuador and Burma ) . CTF has panoramic views down the cliff to the east of Fianarantsoa. During your trip, you will enjoy the small stops to discover the daily life of Tanala and others who live around the path irons. Before returning to Fianarantsoa, we’ll go right next to the only tea plantation in Madagascar. Upon arrival, welcome by your driver and transfer to your hotel.

Day 9: Fianarantsoa – Ambalavao – Ranohira / Isalo (370km + / – 6h)

After breakfast, departure to join Ranohira (Isalo). Through Ambalavao, we will visit the wine cellar, workshop manufacturing Antemoro papers, wild silks. Easy walk to admire the old colonial houses with its famous conservatories. Continue to the village nature reserve «Anja «to meet the lemurs. You will also find tombs, medicinal plants … After the visit departure to Ranohira through the highlands of Horombe with a landscape that must undoubtedly arouse your curiosity. Upon arrival, check into your hotel.

Day 10: Ranohira / Isalo

After breakfast, transfer to the entrance of Isalo National Park to discover its fauna and flora. The massive ruin forms `s Isalo is a sandstone plateau of continental Jurassic. Heavily eroded, the only witnesses fragmented by sandy valleys and canyons remain: a truly exceptional show. Today we will start the tour by canyons lemurs and eventually the Namaza site. You’ll find panoramic views (rice, cliffs incised gorges). Old royal village, Royal Enclosure, Shower King, Tomb of King Tombs Bara. Ski Freestyle lush gorges; explore the unique flora of the rainforest and its many groups of lemurs. There are also birds, butterflies, lizards…

Day 11: Ranohira / Isalo – Tulear – Ifaty (270Km + / – 5h)

Transfer to Tulear through the highlands of Horombe. Through the village of Sapphire Ilakaka then continue to Tulear with desert landscapes. Arriving in Tulear, have lunch before returning to the sandy road Ifaty. Upon arrival, check into your hotel.

Days 12-13 : Ifaty

Free days to enjoy the beauty of the region. Tours are available in your hotel. You can visit Reniala reserve to see endemic species of baobabs…

Day 14: Ifaty – Tulear – Antananarivo (30 km + / – 2h and 1h15 flight)

Transfer to Tulear then continue to the airport for your flight to Antananarivo. Meet at the airport and then visit the historic old city of Antananarivo. Starting with the splendid view of Antananarivo, and to further the Queen’s Palace (under construction), the former Palace of justices, the Andafiavaratra Palace, which houses the exhibition of objects saved from the fire of the Palace Queen in 1995. Andohalo place is the oldest public square in Antananarivo and transfer to your hotel. After dinner, transfer to the airport for your international flight.
